ON THIS DAY IN TEENAGE HISTORY, seventeen-year-old Tommy Brown of the Dodgers became the youngest player to hit a home run in the major leagues. Brown connected off Preacher Roe of the Pirates. Brown played nine years in the majors and hit just 30 more homers. He is pictured above with the Cubs in 1953, his final season.
